The Hollow Wasp Prison (2022) is a musique concrète piece which explores the sonification of anxiety. Recordings were collected inside the intimate space of Seána’s “home studio”, using sounds like tapping materials against each other (metal spoons, wooden sticks, her teeth), scraping drum cymbals and capturing vocal utterances such as humming and tensing vocal chords. These recorded sounds were then manipulated and sonically corrupted in Ableton Live. The end result is this experimental work.
